With red carpet appearances, family functions, media interviews, and VIP events becoming more common during All-Star Week, personal style has come to play a role alongside athletic talent in recent times.

For Happy Jewelers, this year’s events provided the perfect chance to assist in preparing some of baseball’s biggest names and their loved ones for one of the sport’s biggest nights of the year. Working with clients including Mike and Jessica Trout, Jac Caglianone and Elli McKissock, Dylan Cease and Christen, Logan Webb and Sharidan, Bobby Witt Jr. and Maggie, Riley Greene and Allison Bloomquist, Joe Ryan and his family, and Louie and Maddie Varland, the family-owned jewelry store from Orange County treated each styling opportunity the same way, fashioning an appearance to fit the person wearing it.

“It was a truly remarkable experience,” the staff from Happy Jewelers commented. “MLB All-Star Week is one of the largest events in baseball, so working with athletes and their families for such an important slate of days was really quite exciting.”

Styling Begins Long Before the Cameras Arrive

While fans tend to be treated to pictures from All-Star week, the process of preparing for the event happens well ahead of schedule. Happy Jewelers spends weeks working alongside clients, carefully curating jewelry selections that complement both wardrobe choices and individual personalities. Rather than arriving with a predetermined look, the team develops multiple options and fine-tunes each combination throughout the styling process.

Happy Jewelers’ method stays collaborative all throughout. The jewelry is seen as an addition to the personal style of the client, not necessarily something that takes the spotlight, enabling clients to create a look that truly belongs to them.

Personal Style Over Passing Trends

Even though they styled some of the biggest names in baseball, Happy Jewelers discovered that there was very little in common between all of them in terms of pieces that they favored or collections. Instead of pinpointing a particular trend, the team noticed something that they think represents the consumers of luxury today: individuality.

“Every client has their own personality and sense of style, and we focus on finding pieces that feel authentic to them,” the company explains.

That mindset has become one of Happy Jewelers’ defining characteristics. Whether styling a longtime All-Star, a first-time participant, or a spouse attending league events, the objective remains consistent. The jewelry should complement the person rather than compete for attention.

It is also why the company avoids treating styling as a one-size-fits-all process. Pieces are mixed, matched, and adjusted until the complete look feels cohesive, often resulting in combinations that evolve throughout the appointment.

Relationships Cultivated Over Years

Although All-Star Week allows Happy Jewelers to be seen at one of the biggest events in baseball, the brand sees such opportunities as outcomes of long-standing relationships.

Professional players keep coming back because the level of service doesn’t change based on who comes into the store. Just as much care and attention to detail goes into styling an All-Star who is about to appear on national TV as it goes into styling a couple looking for an engagement ring or commemorating some other milestone in their life.

“As either an MLB All-Star or a first-time buyer who has never shopped for an engagement ring before, we want you to feel welcome, understood, and cared for,” the team says. “This is what we believe turns our first-time customers into lifetime clients.”

This approach is applied to styling appointments themselves. Although Happy Jewelers gives its expert insights and suggestions, it’s the client who makes all the final calls.

More Than a Weekend

With professional sports and fashion continuously overlapping, jewelry is now being used by players to convey their own personality outside of playing sports. Happy Jewelers has also adapted to that trend by organizing stylist sessions where collaboration, comfort, and individuality all hold the same importance.

Reflecting on the 2026 MLB All-Star activities, Happy Jewelers takes great pride in the trust that was placed in the team during the entire process, not just the photos that were posted on social media.

The ability to style some of the most talented athletes and their families during an event that is an essential part of the game of baseball gave another chance to prove how Happy Jewelers has been doing business for years.

A Jewish reporter who has previously contributed to the BBC says he will no longer work with the news service over its refusal to label the Palestinian extremist group Hamas as “terrorists.”

“A personal announcement from me: I will no longer work for or represent the BBC,” Abrahams posted on X, previously known as Twitter.

When reached for comment, the BBC disputed media reports characterizing Abrahams’ departure from the service as a resignation.

Man Allegedly Ties Up & Robs Airbnb Host After Renting Basement https://brevmag.com/man-allegedly-ties-up-robs-airbnb-host-after-renting-basement/ https://brevmag.com/man-allegedly-ties-up-robs-airbnb-host-after-renting-basement/#respond Tue, 03 Oct 2023 16:34:52 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=43209 A man in Georgia is being sought by authorities after allegedly using Airbnb to rent a basement space and then robbing and restraining the homeowner.

According to an initial news release from the Gwinnett County Police, they are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 26-year-old Khalil Hamilton, a suspect in an armed robbery case. On the evening of September 26, Hamilton purportedly rented a basement room in a Buford residence through Airbnb. Following the rental, he allegedly sent a text message to the homeowner, claiming there was a need for a bathroom repair.

During the alleged robbery incident, the homeowner stated that his wife and child were present in the house, but they were not harmed and were left unattended. A police report mentioned that the suspect had used the pretext of a “leaky toilet” as the reason for the purported “bathroom repair” mentioned in his initial text message. This ruse was seemingly employed as a means to gain access to the residence and subsequently carry out the robbery.

According to The Los Angeles Times, the body of 32-year-old Nichole “Nikki” Coats was discovered in her apartment on September 10th. Two days later, on September 12th, the lifeless body of 31-year-old Maleesa Mooney was found in her own apartment. The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that Mooney’s death is being treated as a homicide, while Coats’ death is not currently classified as such.

Although authorities have not disclosed any presumed connection between the two deaths, Coats’ family believes that she, too, may have been a victim of foul play. The investigations into these tragic incidents are ongoing.

Coats’ family has established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses. The campaign has already exceeded its initial goal of $10,000, with $15,235 raised from 208 donors. This support reflects the concern and sympathy of the community for Coats and her grieving family.

Man Arrested For Stealing Neighbor’s Front Porch In Georgia https://brevmag.com/man-arrested-for-stealing-neighbors-front-porch-in-georgia/ https://brevmag.com/man-arrested-for-stealing-neighbors-front-porch-in-georgia/#respond Wed, 23 Aug 2023 18:38:37 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=28025 In a rather unusual incident, a man in Arnco, Georgia, has been arrested and is facing a felony charge for allegedly stealing an entire porch. According to a report from WAGA-TV, the accused porch thief, identified as Robin Swanger, reportedly ignored multiple “no trespassing” signs when he entered his neighbor’s property and removed a wooden porch. The investigator from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office described the stolen item as a “full 8′ by 10′ porch.”

Despite the appearance of the property as abandoned, it was indeed not, and the owner had posted the “no trespassing” signs in an effort to deter people from entering.

Complex has reached out to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office for further information, and this story may be updated. In addition to the felony charge related to the porch theft, Swanger also faces two domestic violence-related charges.

Nurse Found Guilty Of Murdering 7 Babies At Hospital https://brevmag.com/nurse-found-guilty-of-murdering-7-babies-at-hospital/ https://brevmag.com/nurse-found-guilty-of-murdering-7-babies-at-hospital/#respond Mon, 21 Aug 2023 20:10:10 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=27248 A nurse has received a life sentence with no possibility of parole after being convicted of the murder of seven babies at a hospital in Chester, England.

Lucy Letby, 33 years old, was sentenced on Monday to a “whole life order,” a sentencing type reserved for the most severe murder cases. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that Letby, who was found guilty last week on seven counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder, employed various methods in the neonatal ward killings that occurred in 2015 and 2016.

“In her hands, innocuous substances like air, milk, fluids—or medication like insulin—would become lethal,” Pascale Jones, a reviewing lawyer for CPS, said on Friday when announcing Letby’s conviction. “She perverted her learning and weaponized her craft to inflict harm, grief, and death. Time and again, she harmed babies, in an environment which should have been safe for them and their families.”

The prosecution’s case was significantly strengthened by medical records, notably the identification of what prosecutors claimed were “falsified notes” crafted by Lucy Letby in an attempt to conceal her actions. Furthermore, prosecutors highlighted the presence of a diary and handwritten notes authored by Letby, one of which contained the chilling statement: “I am evil, I did this.” These pieces of evidence played a crucial role in building the case against in indicting her.
