The 2021 NFL season officially commenced this past Thursday, September 9, and what better way to kick it off than the Dallas Cowboys taking on the 2020 defending Super Bowl Champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on their home turf in Tampa Bay, Florida. Taking place at the Raymond James Stadium, the Buccaneers just managed to pull off a victory late in the game against Dak Prescott and the Cowboys with the final score totaling out 31-29. Dallas seemed to have the game on lock until the final minute of the match when Tom Brady entered the game to make a bold statement in the direction of the rest of the opposing teams.

There was a slight struggle for the lead throughout the entirety of the game and towards the finishing minutes of the fourth quarter, it seemed as if all hope was lost for Tampa Bay. With 1 minute 24 seconds remaining on the clock, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers’ offense took the field to push their competitors 57 yards back in the span of just 82 seconds, before kicking a beautiful 36-yard field goal to secure the first victory of the NFL season. The turning point in this game was a pivotal play that consisted of a risky yet successful shoulder pass at the Dallas 18-yard line that was completed by wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Despite their loss, the Cowboys had an impressive game themselves. More specifically, their star quarterback Dak Prescott threw a total of 403 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 INT, while finishing with a 101.4 passing rate for his first game of the year. Also making a statement for themselves and Dallas this season, wide receivers Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb combined for a total of 243 yards, 20 interceptions, and 3 touchdowns, officially propelling them to becoming the NFL’s top receiving duo. As the 2021-2022 seasons continues, and after witnessing this competitive battle, there is no doubt left that these two teams are ready to go to war in these upcoming games
