Beloved American actor, Bruce Willis, made the official announcement that he will be retiring from acting. Making the declaration on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, people close to the Hollywood personality claimed he is “stepping away” from his career as an actor for reasons related to his previous diagnosis of aphasia; a medical condition that causes the affected to lose the ability to express or understand speech. The 67-year-old Die Hard icon was given this uneasy information just last week, making the recent decision confirmation being done in a short period of time and without any hesitation.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” family members of Willis posted to each of their individual Instagram accounts. “As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support.”
The statement concluded with: “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him… As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up and together we plan to do just that.” The note was inked by his current wife Emma Heming, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and his five children, Evelyn (7), Tallulah (28), Scout (30), Mabel (9), and Rumer (33). Willis is highly known for his impressive work in various timeless movies such as the Die Hard series, Air Strike, The Kid, and so many more. As of right now, the seriousness of Bruce’s situation is still kept within the privacy of his loved ones, meaning all his fans can do is hope that the actor does not have it too rough.
