It’s a move that everyone eventually saw coming for years now, Nike has officially announced the welcoming of Lebron James’ son Bronny James to the swoosh brand. The footwear & lifestyle brand powerhouse announced earlier today that it has signed the young prospect to a name, image, and likeliness deal. This announcement comes just days after Bronny turned 18-years-old.
“For as long as I can remember, Nike’s been a part of my family,” says Bronny, who’s currently a senior at Sierra Canyon High School. “Getting a chance to team up with them and continue my family’s legacy both on the court and in the community is wild—it really means a lot to me.”
Bronny has repped Nike throughout his time playing basketball staying loyal to the swoosh brand. The prospect would go on to spend his high school career playing at Sierra Canyon, which is also a Nike sponsored team, lacing up pairs of his fathers shoes as well as other signature models from Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant. Nike says that through this partnership, Bronny strives to continue supporting the LeBron James Family Foundation and positively impacting people while he embarks on his professional basketball journey.
LeBron James first signed with Nike in 2003 before his NBA career had began. Over time James would rise to become the face of the NBA, signing a lifetime deal with the brand in 2015 worth a reported $1 billion.
