The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana hosted their own New Orleans Pelicans in a competitive game against the Boston Celtics. Occurring on Saturday, January 29, 2022, the Celtics managed to slip away with a 107-97 victory over the Pelicans, propelling them to a new and improved 26-25 record for the 2021-2022 season. With one of the Pelicans star players Zion Williamson taking the remainder of the season to recover from a serious foot injury, Boston intelligently capitalized on a small window of opportunity to increase their overall win total for the year.

Star forward for the Celtics Jayson Tatum saw the most minutes while scoring the most points on the floor this past Saturday night, putting up a total of 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists to aid in his squad win. Starting guard Jaylen Brown was another athlete who did the most to lead his franchise to a highly sought-after victory, after putting up a much-needed 31-point game for himself over the course of a hard-fought 35 minutes of action. Marcus Smart also facilitated the game on the offensive end of the court with his necessary 5-point, 3-rebound and 12-assist game to add another win to his team’s seasonal stat chart.

Even with their young powerhouse Zion Williamson remaining absent for the rest of the current season, the Pelicans refused to go down without a fight. In this specific match, Josh Hart was the most noticeable athlete on the floor for New Orleans by earning himself a double-double for the night with his hard-earned 10 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 assists. This loss now decreases the New Orleans Pelicans season record to 18-31 as they turn their attention to the Cleveland Cavaliers who they will face this upcoming Monday, January 31.
