Former United States President Barack Hussein Obama II has returned with the spontaneous annual reveal of his favorite songs of the current year (2022). He published his most updated list this Saturday (Dec. 24) through a short post uploaded to his verified Twitter account: “I always enjoy sharing my end-of-the-year music playlist with all of you — and this year we hear a lot of great songs. Here are some of my favorites… Are there any songs or artists I should check out?”
Last year, the two-term president had over 30 songs in his public list consisting of a variety of different music genres such as hip-hop, jazz, rap, and plenty more, which was eventually turned into an official playlist that can currently be streamed on Spotify’s platform. However, this year, the 61-year-old American politician trimmed down his list to a solid 25 singles, including the same amount of diversity when looking at all of the contrasting genres.
President Obama’s list withholds the following tracks in the specific order he arranged: Kendrick Lamar: The Heart Part 5, Bad Bunny: Tití Me Preguntó, Ari Lennox: POF, Zach Bryan: Something in the Orange, Burna Boy: Last Last, Ethel Cain: American Teenager, Tank and the Bangas: Communion in My Cup (feat. The Ton3s), Koffee: Pull Up, Rosalia: Saoko, Ayra Starr: Rush, Beyonce: Break My Soul, Sir: Life Is Good (feat. Scribz Riley), Maggie Rogers: That’s Where I Am, Layla McCalla: Dodinin, Steve Lacy: Sunshine (feat. Foushee), Rema: Calm Down, Plains: Problem With It, Xavier Omar: Feelings 4 You, Danger Mouse & Black Thought: Belize (feat. MF Doom), Omar Apollo: Tamagotchi, Sudan Archives: Home Maker, NxWorries: Where I Go (feat. H.E.R.), SZA: Shirt, Lizzo: About Damn Time, Adam Blackstone: Round Midnight (feat. Jazmine Sullivan).
