Confirmed to the public this past Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the 60-year-old businessman claimed how he did not want to be a “distraction” to the organization’s purpose following a year-long suspension and $10 million fine for using a racial slur – representatives from the NBA stated that Sarver used the N-word “at least five times with instances of inequitable conduct toward female employees,” according to the NBA’s open investigation.

Sarver officially declared his removal from the teams through a formal message to the world: “As a man of faith, I believe in the atonement and the path to forgiveness,” he wrote. “I expected that the commissioner’s one-year suspension would provide the time for me to focus, make amends and remove my personal controversy from the teams that I and so many fans love… In our current unforgiving climate, it has become painfully clear that that is no longer possible — that whatever good I have done, or could still do, is outweighed by things I have said in the past. For those reasons, I am beginning the process of seeking buyers for the Suns and Mercury,” Sarver concluded.

Brazil Bans Distribution Of iPhones Without Chargers  https://brevmag.com/brazil-bans-distribution-of-iphones-without-chargers/ https://brevmag.com/brazil-bans-distribution-of-iphones-without-chargers/#respond Sat, 17 Sep 2022 17:04:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=16407 Earlier this month, Brazil’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security reportedly fined Apple approximately 12.275 million reais (2.04 million euros). In a statement they made on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, the ministry claims that the company is discriminating against its users by not selling the power adapter along with the cellular device, an “incomplete product” – Apple previously decided to separately sell charges with their newest iPhone product. In addition to the lawsuit, Brazil has officially confirmed the expulsion of all iPhones throughout the country; reports claim that selling the product will soon be considered a crime.

Lisa Jackson, vice president of environment, policy, and social initiatives, recently spoke on the corporation’s recent decision at Apple’s 2020 September keynote: “Sometimes it is not what we make, but what we do not make that counts… We are confident that our customers are aware of the various options for charging and connecting their devices.” As a result of Apple’s change in production, the Brazilian union recently agreed to demand that all electronic devices be distributed with a common USB-C charging cable earlier this past year.

Colombia’s New President Fears ‘War on Drugs’ is Unsuccessful https://brevmag.com/colombias-new-president-fears-war-on-drugs-is-unsuccessful/ https://brevmag.com/colombias-new-president-fears-war-on-drugs-is-unsuccessful/#respond Sun, 14 Aug 2022 21:23:43 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=15568 Officially sworn into office this past Sunday, August 7, 2022, Colombia’s newest leader, President Gustavo Petro, is currently calling for a “war on drugs” reevaluation. Giving his word to ban all new oil projects and protest all forms of inequality, the former Bogota mayor spoke to a large group of Colombian citizens about the current state of drugs within their country: “We need a new global convention that accepts the war on drugs has failed. It has left a million dead Latin Americans during 40 years of destruction and it leaves 70,000 North Americans dead by overdose each year… I do not want two countries, just as I do not want two societies. I want a strong, just, and united Colombia.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov Inducted into UFC Hall of Fame https://brevmag.com/khabib-nurmagomedov-inducted-into-ufc-hall-of-fame/ https://brevmag.com/khabib-nurmagomedov-inducted-into-ufc-hall-of-fame/#respond Mon, 04 Jul 2022 21:30:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=14778

33-year-old Khabib Nurmagomedov was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this past Thursday, June 30, 2022, after an unforgettable 9-year professional fighting career. Commencing his UFC debut back in 2012, Khabib managed to earn himself an impressive and immortal undefeated career record of 29 wins consisting of 8 knockouts, 11 submissions, and 10 decisions. The fighter soon turned into a coach when he retired from the UFC in 2021, just one year after the passing of his closest companion, life-long coach, and beloved father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

“Ten years ago, my mind was completely different,” Khabib vocalized during his post-induction ceremony. “I am going to be champion, I am going to be rich, buy everything. But the last two years, everything that happened, my mind changed. The way I was thinking changed… My father is not with me, and it is a very hard time to stand here and talk about him. It is very emotional for me.” Nurmagomedov won the final fight of his career against Justin Gaethje back in 2020, via triangle choke hold submission, within the first minute of the second round.

Khabib has a lengthy list of super athletes who he has defeated over the past nine years including Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, Al laquinta, Ali Bagov, Magomed Magomedov, Conor McGregor, Michael Johnson, Pat Healy, Kamal Shalorus, Arymarcel Santos, and so many more.

Jake Paul Reacts to Tyson Fury Pulling Out of Fight  https://brevmag.com/jake-paul-reacts-to-tyson-fury-pulling-out-of-fight/ https://brevmag.com/jake-paul-reacts-to-tyson-fury-pulling-out-of-fight/#respond Fri, 24 Jun 2022 23:05:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=14975 Most people are aware of the highly-anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury that is set to take place on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Unfortunately for fans across the globe, Fury recently made the announcement that he is attempting to pull out of the fight, for the second time, due to his father not being allowed to attend the match. “Tommy, your dad has been banned from the United States for 15 years, you have known this the whole entire time, he is a criminal,” Paul stated in a video he uploaded to his Instagram feed.

Even since Tommy decided to back out of the originally planned fight that was set to take place in February 2022, there has been proof all throughout social media of Fury verbally attacking the youngest Paul brother, along with the valuable members of his management team. “You claim you are a professional boxer but you do not want to fight with me,” Paul continued. “You have talked so much s**t about me. The person who you said you would spark, saying I am nothing compared to you – Where is all that s**t talk now, Tommy?”

Currently, the fight still remains in place for August 6th, but by the looks of the situation between Fury, his family, and his team there is no telling whether or not this specific match will happen. “I will agree to not have my team around me during the fight,” the 25-year-old Paul brother claimed. “I will agree to not fight with my coaches in my corner, we can both fight solo dolo.” Jake Paul has made his stance clear on the fight multiple times, expressing how he does not care what he has to do in order to follow through with the match and show the world that he not only takes his craft seriously but that he is better than Tommy Fury.

Prison Riot Erupts in Ecuador https://brevmag.com/prison-riot-erupts-in-ecuador/ https://brevmag.com/prison-riot-erupts-in-ecuador/#respond Mon, 04 Apr 2022 12:45:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=14144

A local prison near the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, Turi prison, was unexpectedly overtaken by a rebellious gang this past Sunday night, April 3, 2022. Reports claim that the inmates took over the authorities after an out of control riot commenced, in which the guards seemingly could not put an end to the situation. Tragically, medical officials have publicized the death of at least 20 people within the walls of the prison, all occurring throughout the riot: The status of inmate or guard was not given with the information on the deceased.

Other inmates who were only witnesses of this specific rebellious act elaborated on how they heard screaming from various cells commencing from Sunday night into Monday morning. Afterwards, officers verified that multiple members of different gangs began attacking each other as innocent guards fell victim to their unnecessary action. Interior Minister Patricio Castillo then went on to announce how Ecuador will proceed to decrease th violence in their country, which will “drain the cesspit (prison),” according to Castillo himself. A similar situation previously took place in Ecuador back in September 2021, which resulted in the unnecessary death of over 300 inmates. The prison was quickly under a state of emergency in which 118 people were brutally murdered by the  different types of weaponry such as grenades and automatic firearms.

Two Brothers Rescued from The Amazon After Four Weeks https://brevmag.com/two-brothers-rescued-from-the-amazon-after-four-weeks/ https://brevmag.com/two-brothers-rescued-from-the-amazon-after-four-weeks/#respond Sat, 26 Mar 2022 03:58:47 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=13044

Two young brothers, Glauco and Gleison Ferreira, were previously stranded in the Amazon Rainforest after simply chasing birds and drifting away from their family. For four long weeks the Ferreira family had thought that they would never see their children again as local emergency services made the improper decision to stop their search during the end of February 2022. However, citizens residing in the local area refused to lose these kids without a fight and continued the search that was now led by only themselves: Glauco and Gleison are repordelty only eight and six years old.

This past Tuesday, March 22nd, both children were officially found by a tree cutter who happened upon them during a walk through the woods. The anonymous man immediately contacted the authorities who picked up the boys that same day and are currently hospitalized for malnourishment. Reports claim that the boys were found and rescued approximately 3.7 miles away from the village of Palmeira in the Lago Capanã where the children were last seen beside their parents; they spent a total of 36 days in the most secluded part of the Brazilian Amazon during the most brutal season of them all.

The most recent incident that relates to this specific event comes from a 2008 case in which an 18-year-old boy got removed from his group in one of the most remote corners of the Amazon. The young man was claimed to be going hunting until he lost track of his route and was pronounced dead on the scene after being found shortly after. If the past shows us anything, it is that the two boys, Glauco and Gleison, are extremely lucky to be alive as many prayers go out to them and their loved ones who were put through temporary trauma.

Medical Marijuana Use Granted by Costa Rica Congress https://brevmag.com/medical-marijuana-use-granted-by-costa-rica-congress/ https://brevmag.com/medical-marijuana-use-granted-by-costa-rica-congress/#respond Wed, 09 Mar 2022 10:03:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=12558 On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Costa Rica’s Congress officially passed a bill to legalize the use of medical marijuana. As current President Carlos Alvarado is planning to sign the new law within the next upcoming days, the legislation will allow the sale and utilization of cannabis for medical and recreational purposes only. This specific move transitions the Central American country to enter an entirely new group of Latin American countries that have legalized medical marijuana such as Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and so many more.

“The veto did not affect the key components of this proposal, which will bring investment, generate employment, allow access to millionaire markets, and reactivate the agricultural sector,” independent local lawmaker Zoila Rosa Volio publicly announced in regards to the recent bill.

Back in January of this year, Alvarado vetoed a similar version of this same law due to it reportedly not having enough filtering and limits to its “consumption of cannabis and individual cultivation.” After the initial declaration, a patient receiving the newly legalized treatment at a local medical facility shared a heartfelt video that described how using medical marijuana had assisted her in reclaiming her hunger and ability to walk again. Marijuana manufacturers all throughout Costa Rica must now cooperate with the Costa Rican Drug Institute (ICD) to pass their health institution reviews if they want to further the production of their popular products.

UNC Upsets Duke In Coach K’s Final Home Game https://brevmag.com/unc-upsets-duke-in-coach-ks-final-home-game/ https://brevmag.com/unc-upsets-duke-in-coach-ks-final-home-game/#respond Sat, 05 Mar 2022 23:39:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=12356 Mike Krzyzewski, more popularly known as ‘Coach K,’ led his team in their final home match of the 2021-2022 college basketball season this past Saturday, March 5. Taking place inside the Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke University in the heart of Durham, North Carolina, the Blue Devils embarrassingly fell short to the North Carolina Tar Heels in an upsetting 94-81 loss. Even with Duke maintaining a strong lead at the commencement of the first half, UNC still managed to put up an impressive 55 points throughout the entirety of the second half.

Duke currently obtains the No. 5 seed in the Top 25 NCAA men’s basketball rankings as they now head into this year’s March Madness playoffs. As this specific game marks Coach K’s last official home game with the team he has coached for the past 42 years, it is heartbreaking for fans to see it surprisingly be spoiled by UNC. This match was so highly anticipated by the college basketball community that the highest-paid ticket price to watch Coach K work on his home court totaled up to be $79,988.00.

UNC guard RJ Davis seemingly did the most damage on the floor this past Saturday night for his squad by aiding in their victory with his much-needed 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, over the course of a hard fought 40 minutes of action. Armando Bacot and Caleb Love also made themselves known as the night went on, combining for a total of 45 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists, while they both played their roles on the defensive end of the floor as well. As the 2021-2022 NCAA playoffs continue, both UNC and Duke will play this upcoming Thursday, March 10 against competitors that are still to be determined.
