Charles Barkley is actively opposing a recent Supreme Court ruling that invalidated race-conscious admission programs. The ruling ended the practice of considering race as a factor in college admissions. Barkley, a former professional basketball player and sports analyst, has been vocal about his disagreement with the decision. He believes that race-conscious admission programs are necessary to promote diversity and equal opportunities in education. Barkley has been using his platform to raise awareness about the issue and advocate for policies that support inclusive admissions practices.

“In my will, I am leaving Auburn five million,” Barkley stated, per AL.com. “I’m going to change it to be just for scholarships for Black students. That’s just my way of trying to make sure Auburn stays diverse.”

Barkley continued, “I love Auburn. I’ve actually changed it to be used for kids from poor homes. But after that ruling yesterday, my phone was blowing up. I was talking to my friends and said, ‘I need to make sure Black folks always have a place at Auburn.’
