According to XXL, R&B singer Jacquees, whose real name is Rodriquez Broadnax, was arrested on Saturday morning following an altercation with police. He has been charged with Simple Battery and Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers, which are both misdemeanors in Georgia.

The incident occurred when a police officer tried to pull over Jacquees for not wearing a seatbelt. Further details about the altercation or the events that transpired during the incident have not been provided in the information available.

“The defendant did not obey my command and instead kept driving the vehicle at a low rate of speed with heavy traffic still northbound on Ocean Drive,” the arresting officer reported in his arrest statement. “He was then asked again to pull over and to provide me with his driver’s license. The defendant once again refused to obey a lawful command from this officer.”

After being booked at 1:26 a.m., Jacquees, the R&B singer, was released from the county jail several hours later at around 8:46 a.m. The release came after he paid a bond of $3,700. It’s worth noting that his mugshot during the booking process gained significant attention and went viral.
