Several companies, such as Elon Musk’s popular NeuraLink corporation, are beginning to drift towards the creation of new technology that can be used on patients during brain implant operations. One business in particular, Inner Cosmos, has recently reached new heights in their implant technology as official reports claim that they are now looking to commence their second human trial test.

For this project specifically, known to be the world’s first-ever brain implant made to treat depression, highly-qualified scientists “implanted electrodes into the skull of a patient,” according to FDA-approved documents, that would send short electric sensations into their brain in hopes of curing the individual’s depression. Even though the trials will not be easy and last for an estimated time of one year, Inner Cosmos believes that, when finished, this treatment will be used around the world to change the lives of many.

Company Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Meron Gribetz went on to release a more elaborative statement on behalf of the newly published information (Jan. 12) and why it is a necessity for the people of today’s world: “Our mission is to create a world that restores humanity’s cognitive power by rebalancing the human mind… The world is in a state of severe disorder, leading to disordered cognition. The effects are being felt by millions, leading to surging levels of depression – We believe our approach can allay the lives of those suffering from depression, and eventually scale to other cognitive disorders.”
