Over the past couple of days, rumors have surfaced throughout the internet community that Amazon is currently looking for a mutual agreement to fully purchase the well-known video game corporation, Electronic Arts. The current global leader in the digital interactive entertainment space is mostly known for their favorite gaming classics such as Apex Legends, FIFA, The Sims, and of course, EA Sports, holding a present net income of USD 789 million in 2022.

On Friday, August 26, claims from an anonymous source reported that the multinational E-commerce company plans to make a future bid for the gaming platform. However, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has yet to confirm the rumors, making the unofficial offer simply hearsay for the time being – CNBC’s David Faber gave an exclusive statement claiming that “there is nothing going on,” in relation to the alleged purchase.

Representatives of For The Win (FTW) expressed their updated version of the rumors earlier this week, “Earlier today, GLHF — a gaming/E-sports outlet and content partner of For The Win — ran a version of this story on our website that violated our editorial standards regarding the use of unnamed and unvetted sources. We have updated this story to remove all mention of those sources.”

On the slightest chance that this specific purchase is actually a project in the works, EA will be the second business to gain Amazon’s attention within this month alone. Earlier in August, the E-commerce giant publicly announced its interest in obtaining the technically advanced robotics company, iRobot, for $1.7 billion: iRobot is commonly known for its state-of-the-art robotic vacuum, Roomba.
