After officially purchasing Twitter for a total of $44 billion, Elon Musk has already commenced a sequence of changes not even a month into his buyout. However, in order to continue at the fast pace he plans, Musk recently gave all of his Twitter employees a job-threatening ultimatum to cut out anyone who does not want to put in the required effort.
“Going forward, to build a breakthrough Twitter 2.0 and succeed in an increasingly competitive world, we need to be extremely hardcore,” the 51-year-old businessman stated in his email. “This will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade.” Musk also shared a link to his workers that he asked them to click on if they wish to continue with their current field of work — “Anyone who has not done so by 5 p.m. ET tomorrow will receive three months of severance. Whatever decision you make, thank you for your efforts to make Twitter successful.”
