Superstar rapper Kanye West who has made several antisemitic comments in recent weeks, has agreed to buy the conservative social media platform Parler. Although dollar amount has not been disclosed to the public, the company is said to have raised $56 million in funding from investors. The apps parent company made an official statement Monday.
“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” said West, in a statement released by Parler. Started in 2018, the social media app Parler quickly became the favored platform for far-right public figures and socialites.
