Cory Sandhagen left the UFC Vegas 60 event a victorious man after defeating Song Yadong via TKO in the fourth round of their brutal fight. The physical match-up occurred this past Saturday, September 17, 2022, leading to the ringside doctor making the executive decision to withdraw Yadong from the remainder of the fight. This win officially marks the end of Sandhagen’s two-fight losing streak and increases his overall professional UFC record to 15-4-0.

“I hate that it ended that way,” the victor stated after the brawl. “I think he deserved the fifth round. I wanted to see the scorecards to see if I was winning or not. That’s what I care about is winning. I won.” Sandhagen went on to express how he was leading in points anyway and would most likely have won if it came to the judge’s decision – Doctors refused to let Yadong continue with the fight due to a deep cut on the top of his eye that was transparently getting worse as the match moved forward.

Despite his loss, Song Yadong is still a difficult opponent to deal with in the ring and most fans, including his opponent, believe he proved that during this event. The 24-year-old athlete has a professional career fighting record of an impressive 19-17-1. While rumors are going to spread, the facts do not lie. Yadong led in takedown percentages (100%) and total strikes connected (58%), making it interesting to wonder how the fight could have continued if the young talent did not get injured.
