United States President Joe Biden has confirmed the official termination of al-Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Biden announced the information to the world this past Tuesday, August 2, 2022, relieving Americans of any possible worries of future harm from the criminal – “He was deeply involved in the planning of 9/11, one of the most responsible for the attacks that murdered 2,977 people on American soil… For decades, he was the mastermind of attacks against Americans,” Biden stated.

The president then concluded his speech by attempting to reassure Americans that they are in safe hands: “Now, justice has been delivered and this terrorist leader is no more. People worldwide no longer need to fear the vicious and determined killer — The United States continues to demonstrate our resolve and our capacity to defend the American people against those who seek to harm us. We make it clear again tonight, that no matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide if you are a threat to our people, the United States will find you and take you out.”

Zabiullah Mujahid, a representative of the Taliban, addressed the situation during a series of tweets stating, “An airstrike was carried out on a residential house in the Sherpur area of Kabul city on July 31.” He continued, “The nature of the incident was not apparent at first… initial findings determined that the strike was carried out by an American drone.” Biden later confirmed that he was the one who “authorized a precision CIA strike that would remove him [al-Zawahiri] from the battlefield, once and for all,” according to the president himself.
