Various members of the widely-known record company Young Stoner Life Records (YSL) have recently been accused of using their label as a front in order to pursue illegal gang-related activities. Initially founded back in 2016, out of Atlanta, Georgia, the label has successfully launched a number of current popular artists such as Gunna, Lil Duke, Lil Keed, and so many more. However, included in this specific arrest was the corporation’s founder, Young Thug, along with Gunna and a total of 27 other unspecified YSL members.
As of 2:43 am on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, Sergio Kitchens, better known as Gunna, officially turned himself into the authorities at the Fulton County Police Station. Along with his friend and mentor, Kitchens and Thug are both facing multiple counts of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Documents report that Kitchens was “not just an associate of the group,” according to the prosecution’s argument. “He was a documented gang member, along with being one of the bosses, who directed their troops into combat in a command position.”
Young Stoner Life Records is known to be a successful outlet to expand any selected individual’s musical ability for approximately the past six years. The label even began to release its own exclusive projects back in 2018 with Slime Language, along with multiple others such as Slime Language 2, My Struggle, Big Deal, Duke Hefner, Versatalien, and Confetti Nights. With the future not seeming too bright for Young Thug and other YSL members, their fans can only hope that the allegations prove to be untrue and a handful of their favorite artists are set free.
