This past week on Thursday, June 16, 2022, the Golden State Warriors earned themselves the title of this year’s 2021-2022 NBA Champions after defeating the Boston Celtics in an intense six-game series. Held at the Celtic’s home court at the TD Garden Arena in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, the final score was tallied at 103-90 at the conclusion of the fourth quarter. With this victory, this specific Warriors squad and head coaches have won their fourth NBA championship together, conquering various all-star athletes and super teams – Cleveland Cavaliers (2015), Cleveland Cavaliers (2017), Cleveland Cavaliers (2018), and the Boston Celtics (2022).

Boston came out victorious at the end of the first and third games of the series, however, Golden State seemed to have gained the upper hand along with the most momentum throughout their matches in order to add another prestigious title to their list of accomplishments. Acknowledged as the 2022 NBA Finals MVP, Steph Curry transparently had the most outstanding performance not only throughout the final game of the year but also during the entirety of the postseason. He put up the most points for his squad this past Thursday night with his well-deserved 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists over the course of a hard-fought 40 minutes of action.

Despite their loss, the Celtics still had an incredible season accompanied by a memorable NBA Finals performance. Almost taking their opponents to a Game 7, Boston did not make this victory easy for their competitors as their Allstars clearly left it all on the court. Star center Al Horford earned himself a double-double for the night that consisted of 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jaylen Brown was another superstar who stepped up to aid his franchise with his necessary 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, which was much similar to the game Jayson Tatum played that established him with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists. As the 2021-2022 NBA season has officially come to an end, there is no doubt fans will be seeing the Warriors celebration throughout the coming weeks considering this is the franchise’s seventh total Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy.
