Mavericks Take Home The Victory Against Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers fell short to the Dallas Mavericks in an intense back-and-forth battle for victory this past Tuesday, March 3, 2022. Held at the Cyrpto.com Arena in the heart of Los Angeles, California, the Mavericks flew into enemy territory just to leave them with a heartbreaking 109-104 loss at the end of the regulation period. With this win, Dallas has officially propelled themselves to withhold an updated 37-25 record for the 2021-2022 season as they continue the rest of the year in the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference. 

Star guard for the Mavericks, Luka Dončić, made sure to put on an impressive performance for his audience by scoring a total of 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists to aid in his squad’s victory. Jayden Brunson also made multiple appearances throughout the game as he went on to assist his team with his own 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists during just 34 minutes on the floor. Kristaps Porzingis was unfortunately absent in Tuesday night’s games, enabling Dorian Finney-Smith and Dwight Powell to put their franchise on their back in adding a combined total of 29 points, 16 rebounds, and 2 assists.  

As far as the Lakers go, Los Angeles now embodies a new 27-34 season record as a result of this specific match. Even with Lebron James putting up a double-double that consisted of 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists, his team still could not produce enough force to stop the drive behind the Dallas Mavericks. Moving forward in the season, the Los Angeles Lakers are now set to prepare for their next game against the Los Angeles Clippers this upcoming Thursday, March 3. The Clippers presently obtain the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference, just below the Minnesota Timberwolves and directly above the Lakers.
