This year’s annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Beginning on Friday, April 15, 2022, and concluding on Sunday, April 24, the week-long gathering will feature performances from various multi-platinum selling artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, MIKA, Logic100, Big Sean and so many more. As most places and events across the United States are currently demanding either proof of the COVID-19 vaccination or forcing you to wear a mask, representatives of this specific event have recently lifted all of their previous COVID-19 requirements for their attendees.
Last fall, Coachella had already announced that they will not be requiring any proof of the vaccine in order to enter the facility. As of Tuesday, February 15, a spokesperson from Stagecoach posted an informative caption that was uploaded to their Twitter account that read: “Festival Admission Update: As we prepare to spend an incredible weekend in the desert together we are announcing that there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Stagecoach 2022, in accordance with local guidelines.”
Over 250,000 people attended Coachella back in 2017 and as the current amount of COVID-19 cases that are coming to light continues to increase, there seems to be transparent doubt in the air in regards to whether or not the event holders made the right decision. A respected Coachella representative made a public statement in an attempt to ease the minds of many citizens who may be concerned. They added, “However, the event shall be presented in accordance with applicable public health conditions as of the date of the event and which may change at any time as determined by federal, state or local government agencies or instrumentalities, artists or the promoter.”
