While both teams suffer a similar low-statured 2021-2022 NBA season record, the Los Angeles Clippers still faced off in a brutal back and forth battle against the Washington Wizards. The intense game took place this past Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., where the Clippers managed to sneak away with a last-minute 116-115 victory at the conclusion of the fourth quarter. Even with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard having to rest for the remainder of the season due to individual ACL and elbow injuries, Washington was simply unable to stop the drive to win behind their opponents.

25-year-old shooting guard Luke Kennard took the opportunity to make himself known this past Tuesday night with his much-needed 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists to aid in his team’s victory. Also capitalizing on the chance to put his team on his back was Amir Coffey who put up the most minutes on the court (37) after playing an impressive 29-point, 5-rebound, and 1-assist game. As of right now, there have not been any new updates in regards to Paul George and Kawhi Leonard’s injuries, however, the chances of them returning during this current season are beginning to look slimmer as the days pass: The Clippers presently rank at the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference.

Despite their nail-biting loss, the Wizards still managed to consistently put points on the board throughout the entirety of the game. Brady Beal saw 40 minutes of action against Los Angeles, achieving a hard-earned 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in an attempt to lead his franchise to a desperately needed win. Unable to do so, the Washington Wizards now hold an uneasy 23-25 season record as they turn their attention to their next match against the Memphis Grizzlies, occurring this upcoming Saturday, January 29.
