Since at least 2017, Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been in a serious relationship with his longtime girlfriend and social media personality India Royale. They had their first child together, WIllow Banks, back in November 2018 and have seemed to be living a plentiful, stress-free life ever since. As their relationship continues to grow in all aspects, Durk recently made one of the biggest decisions of his life this past Sunday, December 19, 2021, after asking his second half to officially take his hand in marriage, in which India accepted without hesitation.
Lil Durk was initially set to perform at the Big Jam Concert in hometown of Chicago, Illinois this past Sunday night until taking the regularly scheduled programming into his own hands. Durk paused the concert mid-show to make an appreciation statement towards India, where the popular rapper would get down on one knee and offer himself to his impending spouse. “You know I love you… Thank you for being the realest. Do you want to be my wife?,” Durk confidently asked before she quickly responded with, “Yes.” The 29-year-old artist then went on to show off his newly announced wife-to-be in an Instagram post, along with the caption, “THE BANKS… It’s about family for real.”
The Laugh Now Cry Later rapper is currently coming off the release of his latest single Broadway Girls (feat. Morgan Wallen) that was officially dropped onto all streaming platforms this past Friday December 17, 2021. This track shortly followed the publication of his previously released solo single Lion Eyes, which was accompanied by its unique music video that can currently be found exclusively on the young rapper’s Youtube channel. With Lil Durk transparently working on building the foundation for his new family, it will be interesting to notice if there is any change in the overall messages inside the artists music.
