The Golden State Warriors recently suffered their second official loss of the 2021-2022 NBA season this past Sunday, November 14, 2021. The game took place against the Charlotte Hornets inside of the Spectrum Stadium, where LaMelo Ball and his squad confidently handed the Warriors a newly polished 11-2 season record. It was a clear neck-and-neck battle throughout the entirety of the match as both teams refused to give in until they either came out victorious or were forced to stop due to time regulation. The final score came out to be 106-102 at the end of the fourth quarter.
Two of the most noticeable athletes of the night were on the floor for Charlotte. With LaMelo Ball being one of them, the 20-year-old point guard put on an outstanding performance this past Sunday night by contributing his much-needed 21-point, 5-assist, and 7-rebound game, in order to ensure his team’s victory. Miles Bridges was another superstar who put his squad on his back to acquire an impressive 22-point, 3-assist, and 8-rebound game over the span of 42 minutes of action. With this win, the Charlotte Hornets now hold an almost evenly balanced 8-7 season record for the 2021-2022 season, as they look to expand their victory list against their upcoming opponents, the Washington Wizards.
Despite the loss, the Warriors still put on a hard-fought performance with their star point guard, Steph Curry, dropping a double-double that consisted of 24 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds throughout just 36 minutes of game time. The only major difference that separated these two teams from victory was their efforts on the offensive ends of the floor; the Warriors obtained 17 more total rebounds than the entire Hornets squad. There is no doubt that Golden State went into this game with the utmost amount of confidence as they came fresh off their most recent victory against the Chicago Bulls. Steph Curry created history against the Bulls by officially passing Hall of Famer and 3-point shooting legend Ray Allen to have the ‘most 3-pointers made in NBA history.’
