With his previous album release taking place back in 2018, Meek Mill fans have been itching to hear what the Philadelphia rapper has in store. Meek has been noticeably silent in the music scene as of late but seemed to finally get himself back on a steady pace with the release of his two new singles, “Sharing Locations” (feat. Lil Baby & Lil Durk) and “Blue Notes” (feat. Lil Uzi Vert), earlier this year. However, these tracks were just a gateway to his highly anticipated body of work, “Expensive Pain,” which consists of 18 brand new songs over the span of 55 minutes and 1 second.

This project was officially released onto all platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify this past Friday, October 1, 2021, and has already accumulated enough attention to propel popular singles onto major streaming playlists. Meek put quite the team together in order to ensure the success rate of this album by gathering a total of 10 features and multiple platinum-selling artists being Kehlani, A$AP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, Giggs, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Vory, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Baby and Lil Durk.

Behind every great album is even better to beat production and this project has it all. Released on behalf of Atlantic Records the 18-song album includes various beat production from a handful of producers such as JJ, Cardo, Xander, Austin Powerz, Boi 1da, Tay Keith, Nick Papz, and even Brent Faiyaz helped produce the beat for his own featured verse on “Halo.” This is the first full body of work that the 34-year-old artist has publicly released since his 2018 No. 1 charting album, “Championships,” that withheld the hit song “Going Bad” (feat. Drake). Meek Mill looks to make another statement with this project to show that he still has what it takes to keep up with the new talent in today’s music industry climate.
